The headlines for this work come from the San Antonio Express News. 

The artist created this work to convey the anxiety and fear that the media can cause one to feel during a pandemic. The headlines are from the San Antonio Express News (March and early April) when the virus started to debut in the San Antonio area. Wearing a mask became a new normal for the United States.

The artist created this work while the Coronavirus swept through her community. As the infected rate continued to rise, the artist found her anxiety to be increasing. To combat her anxiety she stopped watching the news and began to find peace by being more present with her family and nature. This work depicts the delicate balance of finding peace during a pandemic. There are moments where it has felt like everything just might topple down and then moments when one can enjoy the slower pace of life.

The artist created this work while in quarantine with her family on their farm. She wanted to depict protection and security for her children as the Coronavirus swept through their community. The raven shelters its two chicks from the world by carrying them upon its head within a sturdy nest. The raven is brave, able to provide, and stands firmly upon a rock. 

The nest was inspired by the work of Hannah Brown.

The artist created this work during the time in which restrictions in the state of Texas began to be lifted. She cautiously observed the world from her farm and the future looked unknown.
